1. In a Class

Remember how easy it was to meet people when you were in school? The tight knit environment created endless conversation starters, which is why signing up for a class can be so helpful if you’re looking to meet men.

Being in the same class is an easy excuse to talk to just about any man. Get to know him as a friend and look for subtle signs that he’s into you.

Whether it’s yoga or pottery, swimming or adult education, find a class or club that intrigues you and sign up. Asides from increasing your smarts, who knows who you’ll meet!

2. In a Coffee Shop

Frequenting your favourite cafe can be helpful for meeting someone new. Since humans are more likely to strike up a conversation with someone they recognize, visiting a cafe on a regular basis can increase your chances of getting a conversation going.

Once you spot someone you’d like to get to know better be sure to make eye contact with him. Doing so will give him an indication that you’re interested in chatting with him, and it’s also been proven to help make you feel more connected with him.

3. Volunteering

Whether you’re into helping stray puppies or protesting for human rights, when it comes to volunteering there is surely a cause you’re interested in.

By putting yourself in a group of like-minded individuals you never know who you’ll meet, and not to mention all the things you’ll have to talk about together. Plus it feels good to give back, which means you can bond over those feelings.

4. At a Social Event

This one is pretty broad, which means you shouldn’t have a problem finding an event to attend.

If you’re wondering where or how to find out about different events, the options are endless. From posters on the street and laundromat flyers, to Facebook events and asking your friends for suggestions, by simply making a point to be observant your schedule will be packed with outings and events in no time.

5. At a Bar

Yes, liquid courage! All kidding aside, a bar setting can be a great place to meet someone because so many men are there for that same reason. Whether you opt for old style pubs or new night clubs, being in this sort of social setting almost guarantees you’ll meet someone new.

If you’re weary on the idea, then take it slow. Maybe you go out one night to watch and learn from other ladies, then the next evening you decide to strike up a conversation with the cute guy who’s been staring. Maybe on night three you feel comfortable giving out your number, or even agreeing to a date. The good news is that your approach is completely up to you, so don’t feel pressured to do anything that makes you uncomfortable.

6. On Public Transit

Sure it can be gross and germ ridden, but riding the bus or skytrain to work can be pretty rewarding. For instance, think about how many great romances started with a simple glance or question… right?

By trading in your cozy car ride to work to put yourself out there in the public eye, the possibility of meeting someone new increases tenfold!

When you spot a man who catches your eye, don’t be afraid to make the first move and talk to him. Perhaps you comment on the book he’s reading, or maybe you sing along to the song blasting through his headphones. Use what you can learn by observing him to strike up a conversation. Doing so is a great way to meet potential love interests, and besides, what do you have to lose?

7. Online

Believe it or not, there really are awesome guys on dating websites – lots of them! The key is to weed out all the weirdos and fake profiles, and focus on the ones who are actually worth your time. Even if you’ve tried online dating in the past and it was a complete disaster, give it another try and you may find yourself pleasantly surprised.

The nice thing about looking for love online is that it opens the door to a whole new world of possibilities. Since meeting someone in person is limited to the place and time, in the online world these kind of stipulations don’t really exist.
